Released to Home Confinement

I was told yesterday that I should be released to home confinement this Tuesday Jan 13th. Up until now for normal weekends, I’ve been going Friday mornings at 9am and returning to the halfway house Sunday evenings by 9pm. For Thanksgiving they let us go home that morning for the whole weekend. The same occurred for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. So I was very lucky to have all those extra long weekends out of the halfway house. My job searching has resulted with four in-person interviews and two job offers. The first job offer as an entry level auto technician was to start this Monday but they rescinded the job offer due to my background check. My second job offer is for a pool job starting in April.

My holidays were beautiful with Patti and the kids.  Patti and I cooked our first Thanksgiving turkey together.  (We have done a great job of letting others cook the turkey in the past!) Kelsy delivered Aaliyah on Dec 3rd. So we have our first adorable healthy grandchild. All the kids have been super close and engaged with Kelsy, Mo and Aaliyah through texting pictures, FaceTiming and visits. Connor constantly visits them in their new condo, which is 30 mins south of Denver.  Then Patti, Fiona and Charlotte flew out individually to visit. We had our annual Christmas Eve party at our house and it felt so normal and exciting.  Connor flew in for Christmas week. When not spending time with the family, I was performing car maintenance to ensure everyone has reliable transportation. Patti got a new minivan for Christmas since all our cars have so many miles on them and two recently broke down on her and me.

I plan to continue to search for winter work, perform car maintenance and work around the house. We attend mass each weekend at St Catherine’s of Siena in Pittstown.  We also get out to winter track meets for Charlotte, the Bridgewater Mall, restaurants for lunch/dinner and the Lower Valley Union Cemetery in Califon. Anytime I go anywhere there are lots of calls I need to make for my departure and arrivals. They also randomly call me when home. I will continue to make those calls and also wear an ankle monitor while on home confinement.
